Our Own Class Art Gallery

Our students have been preparing to go to the Vancouver Art Gallery to visit the Emily Carr exhibit on Oct. 17.  We have been sending and receiving images in our brain and will be using different mixed media to create our own master pieces!

Images and connections are so important when reading!

Thank you Mrs. Funk for lending us the portable tables to explore with...
We now have our own "Connections" hand shake!!!  I love it!!!  Check it out below...

Just Right Reading

Thank you to all the parents coming in and those that are reading with their children at home.  To help your child be a Powerful Reader here is what our class has come up with...

We also have been responding to our stories... so when you are at home here are some things to be asking yourself while reading and after reading...

Our latest book series we have been enjoying are books by "David Shanon"...  Here we are in A/B partners being cover detectives!

Here we are sharing out our partners' idea about the cover...

My _____________(partner) thinks/says _________________________.

Now we are reading the pictures and words we know :)

Here is what our class came up with for "Yes Rules" for our class community!

Meeting Trevor Linden

Today our family and some fellow hockey fans lined up to meet Trevor Linden.  We were all so excited.  Trevor signed shirts, a book and a story bag for us.  Natasha asked him, "Why are you writing on my shirt?"  It was priceless!

Trevor's message for Div. 18 was "Always try your best and be kind to everyone!"

The Fitkall Family :)

Mrs. Fitkall, Ms. Wilson, and Mrs. White!!!!

Trevor loves to read and loves the book "Just One Goal!" by Robert Munsch...

Wonderful Start!

Div. 18 has started wonderfully!  We have a great class and parents.   Our class works well together and are very respectful of each other!

Thank you to Maika's Mom for making playdough.  We have had great fun using it to strengthen our fingers and create letters before our printing practice.

Library has started and everyone came home with a cloth library bag.  Please help your child enjoy the books and return them in the plastic bag inside the cloth bag in case of spills in backpacks.
